Usability Test - Rock Auto
A usability test was conducted on the website rockauto.com and suggestions were made after reviewing the results. This report explains the methodology, findings and suggestions.

This test was conducted using three participants. Tasks were performed while an observer timed the participants and noted their actions and comments. The results revealed the site design to be unaccommodating to user needs. Much of the text and many of the links were too small. Conventions were also broken that left users feeling confused, such as non-clickable product images and a lack of affordances for some critical information.

The test was successful in that it identified actionable usability issues.
Usability Test - HobbyTown Website
A usability test was conducted on the website hobbytown.com and usability suggestions were made after reviewing the results. This report explains the methodology, findings and suggestions.

Four test participants were observed attempting five different tasks on the website. Being a large retail site, the hobbytown.com navigation was of particular interest in this study. Test participants were advised not to use the search bar and instead navigate using the site's menus and directories.

The main issues identified involved the site's information architecture or the site's structure element if looking in from a UX design perspective. The categories used to organize products were not very intuitive. Other small issues were found, such as the inability to locate a store by zip code; but in general, the site performed well.
